There are many teams speculated to be in the Peyton Manning sweepstakes, but the one that absolutely makes the most sense is the San Francisco 49ers.
SF have arguably the greatest defense in the NFL, something Peyton has never had in his career. He had a very good D when he won in Indy, but nothing approaching this caliber of defense.
SF also have a very solid, very reliable run game with Frank Gore and Kendall Hunter. Their offensive line is above average and they have a great kicking game with David Akers.
Now, the WR corps would have to be upgraded, but Reggie Wayne, many experts feel, would be tied to Peyton, Dallas Clark just got released and Pierre Garcon is a free agent. If you add these weapons to Vernon Davis and Michael Crabtree, you have a Super Bowl offense to go with the Super Bowl defense.
San Francisco also play in the worst division in the NFL which would give them a great shot at Home Field throughout, however long Manning can play at a high level.
To disqualify other teams, here is why he should pass on other suitors:
NY Jets: Rex Ryan doesn't seem like a Manning coach. Can't see him sharing state, stadium, headlines with Eli.. comparisons in NY paper would be ridiculous.
Miami: Prob my runner up, but do you really want to stay in division with Tom Brady? Jets are still there. Couldn't argue with Miami, only I think SF are more Super Bowl ready, especially since they should've made the SB with Alex Smith. I know some now "believe" in Alex.. Sorry, I don't.
Arizona:Intriguing destination for sure, especially if the package of Wayne and now maybe even Clark traveled with Peyton. Wayne,Fitz duo would be unstoppable. Still not sure bout that Arizona O Line and that SF defense you would face twice is great enough to stop even Peyton.
Denver: follow Tebowmania? No thanks. I think cupboard is pretty empty in Denver. Sure Manning makes no names superstars but Manning has a short amount of time left.. Denver are more than a couple pieces away.
Seattle: once again, just too many holes and not enough time for Manning. He needs to go to a ready to win the Super Bowl now destination. Only team that fits that bill and doesn't have a top elite guy at QB is SF.
Thoughts? opinions? Dark horse teams I didn't mention?

NFL Playoff Predictions
Denver @ New England:
As much as I have been driving the Tebow bandwagon since last season, His season ends this weekend. Tom Brady is going to set an offensive pace, Denver just don't have the weapons to keep up with.
Tebow puts up a valiant effort, but New England pull away late 3rd to take this 31-17.
New Orleans @ San Francisco. New Orleans may be the hottest team in the league, their offensive looks unstoppable BUT, this SF defense is nasty, the muddy slow field in SF will help slow New Orleans offense down. New Orleans traveled west last season and got upset by Seattle...
I think SF will keep it close, fight hard, but New Orleans has just enough to come through. 24-20 New Orleans
Houston vs Baltimore: This should be the slobber knocker game of the week. Great defenses, pound it football. Foster and Tate must control clock, field position and TJ Yates must protect the ball. This game will come down to who wins the turnover battle... I like Baltimore at home 17-13
NY Giants vs Green Bay: NY have something going that reminds me of 2007 when they stormed through playoffs and upset Unbeaten New England. Green Bay played a soft schedule this year and in all actuality struggled at times this season as they have ZERO pass rush. Giants have better run game, better front 4.... I like Giants WR's as much as GB's to be honest, especially with Jennings coming off injury. Nicks,Cruz,Manningham can hold their own with Jennings,Nelson,Jones,Driver and Finley.
I am picking the upset this week. Giants lost a few weeks ago on a late controversial TD reception by Greg Jennings.... I think GB's season ends this week. Giants 34-31.
